I came to Kasabi Canton Japanese Hibachi Sushi and Ramen expecting a quiet dinner and instead experienced what can only be described as a spiritual sushi awakening with mild paranormal activity. First off — the sushi really is insanely fresh. I don’t know if it’s actually coming from @salty_in_central_il like someone said, but if so those fish are living better lives than I am. The rolls were beautifully crafted and so flavorful I briefly considered moving to Canton permanently and starting a new identity as “Sushi Tony.” Someone told us to ask for the secret weekly special (not on the menu), and the server leaned in like he was revealing classified government intel and whispered: “You ready?” I said yes and immediately felt unqualified. Whatever it was — phenomenal. I’m still not 100% sure what species it came from, but I would absolutely order it again. The rangoon were so light and fluffy that I suspect at least one floated away into the ventilation system. If you hear a faint crunching sound in the ceiling… that's probably mine. Then about halfway through dinner we heard a mysterious boom from the kitchen. Nobody reacted. The staff calmly continued plating sushi like this happens hourly. One guy nodded knowingly like, “Yep… that’s the 7:14 boom.” Honestly it made the experience feel authentic. The ramen was excellent — rich broth, perfect eggs, and enough noodles to sustain a midwestern farmer through winter. I achieved a level of fullness normally reserved for Thanksgiving and competitive eating contests. Service was friendly without hovering. The staff has that relaxed confidence of people who know they are about to ruin all other sushi for you. Atmosphere is cozy and clean — a bit of a Chinese/Japanese fusion vibe that somehow works. It’s the kind of place where you walk in for dinner and leave wondering if you've discovered a hidden portal to better food and possibly another dimension. Bonus points: wheelchair access is easy, which is great because after eating this much sushi you may need to be rolled out.
Honestly the best sushi I’ve ever had. We went to the soft open and it blew my mind! My new favourite restaurant. And ask for the special. It’s never listed but the owners said they always have a weekly secret dish! You have to try this place!! Go now!
